BOI’s life-coaching services include free, confidential one-on-one coaching as well as life-skills workshops to past or current BOI or Women’s Business Center clients, upon referral by an BOI business counselor.

Life Coaching

Succeeding in business takes more than just a solid business plan and financial resources. It takes life skills such as self-discipline, self-awareness, integrity and setting limits, as well as interpersonal communication skills and reaching goals that you have intentionally set. Business owners are just starting to use coaches to enhance their life skills to improve their business' performance and create a more balanced life.

One-on-One Coaching

Our life coach will help you identify situations or actions that may be slowing or stopping your progress toward reaching your business goals. Coaching consists of an assessment phase to develop a clear picture of your current situation and a problem-solving component that includes a client-centered action plan and monitoring of progress in carrying out the plan. The life coach assists and supports, but the tough decisions and work will be done by the client who is in charge of her/his decisions.

One-on-one coaching is available with James Brown, a doctoral candidate in social work with 15 years of experience working as a coach to a wide variety of people.

Life Skills Workshops — Enhancing Your Life Skills to Reach Your Business Goals

BOI offers five, free life-skills workshop modules. Each module is limited to 12 participants, so you need to reserve your space. Only past or current BOI and Women's Business Center clients may attend.

The "Enhancing Your Life Skills" workshops are led by Elaine Voci, Ph.D., whose life experience includes running her own private practice for 10 years, working overseas in Japan for four years, and coaching business people in Europe and North America since 1992.

Who Should Take Life Skills Workshops?

Past or current BOI and Women’s Business Center clients interested in strengthening their own internal motivation to succeed in business should attend. Each module has homework assignments and the expectation that participants will be engaged and serious about their own investments of time and energy, and respectful of others’ similar investments. In other words, once you make the commitment to complete a module (four weeks in length) you will be expected to show up with your homework done, and to actively participate during the workshop. Each workshop is a golden opportunity to practice life skills such as self-awareness, self-discipline, keeping one’s word, honoring one’s commitments, communication and goal setting.
