Networking for Success
Few new small-business owners have the money to do media advertising to gain exposure and credibility. BOI encourages them to adopt a networking approach. New sales often result from generating leads and referrals from contacts made through networking. Successful networkers have developed networking skills and tools, know the right places to network and have developed a follow-up system to track contacts. Making a good first impression, introducing yourself appropriately and building personal credibility are keys to networking success.
BOI offers a practical, hands-on, four-workshop series that will address:
- Proper networking etiquette and how to set your networking goals
- How to network effectively and where to network for the most value
- The difference between networking for prospects and referral sources
- How to create a follow-up system
- Different ways to organize the business cards you collect
- When to ask others for referrals
The cost of the four-workshop series is $60. Participants must be current business owners and attendance is required at all four workshops. Preregistration is required. To register, please call (317) 917-3266 ext.100 or e-mail information@businessownership.org.
