Indiana Small Business Week Celebration 2008 — Thursday, May 1

Indiana Small Business Week this year is April 27 – May 3. Indianapolis-area small-business owners are invited to celebrate it at a luncheon/seminar on Thursday, May 1, at the Ritz Charles, 12156 N. Meridian St., in Carmel.  Cost is $35 per person.

The Special Guest Speaker will be Daniel W. DeHayes, Ph.D., Principal, Meridian Consulting Group, Inc. and Professor Emeritus at Kelly School of Business, Indiana University. He will speak on Leading in Challenging Times: Lessons from Survivors.

BOI and its Central Indiana Women’s Business Center help people create and develop their own businesses by inspiring entrepreneurship and providing access to the information, training and resources needed to start — and be successful.

Although BOI’s services are available to all residents in the Indianapolis area, its special mission is to provide support to people who for various reasons may lack access to the business, legal, accounting and financial resources necessary to start or grow a business.

BOI offers:
• practical, hands-on workshops to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to run your business effectively
• one-to-one business counseling, for guidance along the way
• life-skills coaching, in case you get stuck
• access to capital, nontraditional loans, and other financial resources
